I can tell you one thing, everything that ends on -chen is neutral (das)

things that end on "ei" are most likely female and things that end on "er" are most likely masculine. BUT that is only valid for words that developed those endings from other words. I know, it's weird

if you got a word like "lieb" or "Mauer" and you make "Liebelei" or "Maurer" out of it, then it's always "die" and "der"
