this seriously is an issue where I think it's good that Germany is less open minded. They were even fighting about allowing the driver license with another person in the car for 17 year olds

Well, the youngster (if I may use this term here) gets a preliminairy driver's license, and he's not allowed to drive during weekends. (Friday evening until Monday morning)
And no people in the car but the "instructor".

But I might be wrong!!!

I'm sure of the "self teaching" thing though.
And we struggle here between the 2 of us for Owen later. Hopefully they've changed the law into a more severe law.

Well, I just don't like the thought of non drivers on the street. Why not do your practise in driving lessons as over here. Way safer... I'm not sure if some people don't abuse that possibility

Like in NL. A driver's school. That's what I prefer.
Cars with double pedals so the instructor can break in case it's needed.
