I know exactly where I was and what I was doing

I was at work (restaurant in the kitchen) cleaning the stove. I heard it on the radio.
Skyradio (station without DJ, so no talking between songs only commercials) actually switched off the song, for an extra message
I noticed it because they only do that when there is somebody driving against the direction of traffic
So I stopped cleaning to listen (I assumed it was an idiot on the road again)

While I was listening to the news, the headchef and a waiter came in from break and they where talking so I could not hear the radio properly
so I said: Shut the fuck up, I want to hear this!
They where looking like this  coz they did not expect me to talk like that

then the manager walked into the kitchen asking if he should tell the few guests in the restaurant about the whole thing.
We decided not to, because we did not want to ruin the guests mood/appetite/afternoon
but most of them found out soon enough from friends on the phone etc

where were you guys?

I'm fairly sure I've said here before, but what the heck...
I was sitting in school [4th grade, age 11 or so :p] and one of the administrators came on the intercom and told us... I don't remember anything of what they said, or what happened afterwards, but I got home and asked my mom if it was WWIII

I was too young at the time to really understand the severity of what happened...
although I do remember, that in the days, weeks and even months afterwards, everyone became suddenly patriotic... American flags everywhere, on nearly every house... no exaggeration.
