in the netherlands we dont have them either, so when I am in Germany I buy some german ones

we used to have some good ones, but then they started to write more and more about popular bands instead of underground bands etc

what most people call melodeath has nothing to do with death metal at all...

that is what causes the confusion.... Same goes with people who think they are into death metal coz the listen to In Flames or CoB

well, yeah, I like some melodeath in the vein of old at the gates, old dt, even some vehemence, but after a couple of hours of listening to it, it's just boring.

I wanted to start a zine here, like those old white ones with black and white pictures, but people don't read them anymore, they prefer to read stuff from underground blogs.

It's worth it if the material is good.

the interviews/reports etc are very good actually, not those standard questions etc... The cd's are samplers so there are always some songs you like, and some songs that suck, and the posters are a nice bonus

I always thought that the Gothenburg style started with really melodic and speedy musics, almost no breakdowns, like earlier In Flames and Dark Tranquillity(first album of each)

imo, melodic has more to do with the melody itself, a song with plenty of riffs, each one made thinking in the harmony the song will have, technical has more to do with the complexity and usage of the keys and all that.
