why do you feel that you need to read the lyrics, I'm just curious.

in my opinion, they affect you... your behavior, your thoughts, etc., even if you don't realize it. so I have to know what I'm putting into my head.

for music specifically, my parents actually said I wasn't allowed to listen to metal... they thought it was bad, and all that. but I don't accept things blindly... I fight for what I believe in. :]
and they've come around since.

So in a way, you have not had the option for your own person to decide

Some Metal has good lyrics, some prog and power metal has good lyrics and yeah I love some manowar lyrics, even if they're a bit cheesey.

I went to church as a kid, I had no choice in that, my parents made me go, though my dad did not go, he just drove us there and went home and watched football. At that age I really did not want to be there at all. Now I am spiritual and go by my own choice, but I don't preach to others, and believe that it is a personal choice that should not be pushed on ayone.

same here. I hate it when people push their opinions on me. so I don't push my beliefs on anyone.

For me, I was raised catholic, but I lost faith in any religion whatsoever, being now against any forced form of religion.

It has to be someone's FREE choise, not made by someone else. Therefore I'd prefer not to baptize someone, as the choise is no longer really "neutral".
