You should be proud to live in such a cool, historical area. Around the time of the reformation there was a lot of cool shit going on. The Flanders-area had to deal with the Spanish occupation though, until like 1648.

There is an Art Academy at the Ina Boudier Bakkerlaan. (at least it was 10 years ago)
