First rating<BR>Bottle at Bishops Arms in Sundsvall, Sweden. February 17, 2006.<BR>Dark brown color and a white head. Nice "Belgian" scent. Amazing taste that I can’t really describe. A close to perfect beer!<BR>(This was as high as 4.7 I think for me in the beginning...)<BR>8/4/8/5/15=4.0<BR><BR>Second rating<BR>(At a blind tasting)<BR>Shady brown color, tan head. Grainy, apple scent. Spicy, sweet, phenolic taste. Alcohol aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel, low bitterness.<BR>6/3/7/4/13=3.3<BR><BR>New testing, 1999 (33 cl bottle) BB 2005 against 2001 (75 cl bottle) BB 2008 against 2007 (33 cl bottle) BB 2012.<BR>2007: Light copper color, tan head. Sweet malty scent. Sweet, malty, spicy, raissins taste. Spicy and alcohol aftertaste. Warming alcohol. Moussy mouthfeel. Low to medium bitterness.<BR>7/3/7/3/13=3.3<BR>2001: Medium copper color, tan head. Oak, butter, port wince, chocolate, mouldy cellar scent. Oak, wodd, port winde, raissins, alcohol, moulde cellar taste. Sweet aftertaste. Warming alcohol. Smooth mouthfeel. Low bitterness.<BR>8/3/8/4/16=3.9<BR>1999: Dark copper color, tan head. Raissins, Madeira, sweet scent. Raissins, Madeira, butter, sweet staste. Warming alcohol. Smooth a bit moussy mouthfeel. Low bitterness.<BR>9/3/9/4/17=4.2<BR>So, how to put the numbers? I’m gonna stick with the 4.2, it’s a nice beer to store for several years, and it’s one of the first beers that got me into the strong stuff.
