well, it is a normal thing over here, that children know underground metal. I personally hate that, because they have no idea of what it means. They are just like: I listen to Iron Maiden, I am cool.. they turn the music loud at their cells and sit like that at the bus or walk the town. it's embarresting

It was like that here in the 80s. These little kids running around with Maiden and Motley Crue shirts and spiked wrist bands. I was embarrassed to be associated with that crowd. they were not into the music so much, mainly the image.

Well I will always love metal, weather it's popular at the moment or not. True Metal Heads are not trend followers, we are loyal fans of our music. That includes us here in the forum.

I actually try to distance from the image as well that for. I don't use spikes or something. I don't even own bandshirts. Only the Wacken shirt. But that's for me, not for others to look at

I rarely wear band shirts these days. My hair is sorta long, that's the only metalish look about me. Most of my bandshirts are old, and when I wear them to concerts I always get a few comments/compliments. I cut my hair a year ago to please my wife. I regret that now, even though she was so moved by the fact that I did it for her. I have not cut it again since.

Oh, and my boss would comment to me about the length of my hair as well. It was very long then. But the length of someone's hair does not make them "Metal". I just like my hair long. I have met many long haired guys who are not into metal at all.

I had my hair cut in the past too. Only because I wanted a change  I let it grow now again... for the same reason I guess. Anyways, for a girl long hair is not really a necessary "metal- assesoir". At least not as for guys.
I mostly wear black stuff still, but that's it. And I actually have a coat, but I don't always wear it... still coats are kickass :D and boots of course (boots are my favourites).

But me as a girl I have always the problem to be considered being a goth. For the ignorant world outside there is no such as female metalheads. Black wearing women are goths  (though I don't even use any make up)
