yes it is. And Reggae and rap are the big music scene here . Metal has a small core following here.

at my school, there's some people that listen to older stuff [metallica, zeppelin, maiden], another group that listens to metalcore, and a very small group of metalheads

Yeah it is sad. My nephew who will be traveling to Wacken with me likes a broad range of Metal as do his friends (15 year olds) which is cool. But they are a minority at school.

My daughter (12 years old) likes stuff like My Chemical Romance. She does like Nightwish and some Leaves Eyes, thanks to me.
