Shit! Just heard from a friend (in NL) that a mutual acquaintance died at the age of 34. Cremation is next Thursday, but I won't be there. (Can't get a day off again)

Funny how some things just etches to your memory.

I was at school, having some lunch on the "café", then it was on TV, it was very strange...

I was 11 at the time. Came home from school.

Well for I was only 11 I wasn't very shocked because I didn't understand. But I still know the situation though. I was watching cartoons and went to my brother who just came back from a friends house. I asked him something and he was like "shut up! I'm watching news. The world trade center just crashed. It was the mightiest building in the world!"... I didn't care and went watching cartoons again. When I went to school the next day the first my teacher said was "we're not gonna do lesson today as if nothing had happened...". I still wasn't aware of the issue then and wasn't really having a clue why she would stop lessons for today. I it got explained later on.
