Especially when that portal demanded WAP and the words "most new phones have WAP".

When I bought mine I asked for one that didn't have WAP, GPRS or anything like that, I like to use my phone for calling and sending text messages.

WAP is very expensive via roaming and it's not very useful. Just a little bit of internet for the mobile

I have (for Germany) an old Nokia, that doesn't know what WAP is. And I like it that way.

The simple SMS messenges were good enough for me.

And I don't think that anyone outside DE is going to use WAP while roaming. It cost me ONLY FOR CALLS about €100 last year, so I won't defenitely use WAP! (and this year, I won't be roaming either)

Just a heads up.

Today I got a text message from TescoMobile saying free web surfing via GPRS until September. Nice timing. Im assuming being in Germany wont make any difference to that?

Might happen with O2 as well, seeing as theyre partners, but not sure on that.
