A question to those that might know, but mostly to the residents of Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany.

It is mentioned that the three countries Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany has a taxation that favours small scale breweries.

Does anyone know more about these laws?

Some of the questions I am looking for answers to are:

What is the maximum volume that counts as small scale?

2)
What tax reductions does the brewery have?

3)
When were these laws passed?

4)
What is the name and paragraph of the law(s)?

5)
Has anyone tried to make this law pass for the entire EU?

6)
Can I find information about these laws in English somewhere?

7)
Any more information you have that you think would be useful for me?

8)
Does any other countries part from these three have anything similar that favours pub and micro breweries?

Unfortunately (for Belgium AND the Netherlands) I haven't got the faintest idea. The only thing I know is that private beerbrewers must be registered (in Belgium) in order to avoid duty taxes. As for subsidies to smaller breweries I wasn't able to find anything (yet).

Try for starters www.belgium.be (the federal site of the Belgian Government) and then the "Search" function.

In English, the "Arcen" brewery in Arcen (near Venlo, NL) or the local brewery where e.g. "La Binchoise" is made (Binche, Be)
