well I was about to say, considering some really good black metal albums, I would say it should actually be 94.

haha yeah. but more just remembering how much awesome metal there was from roughly 85-92 or so.

not to say it all went downhill after that, just all my favourite metal albums are pretty much from those years.

I'd agree except my favorite bands tend to be more modern bands.

Old stuff is good, new stuff is good, in between stuff is good... actually I guess my music tastes span the years from 85 to now fairly evenly.

I'm just not impressed by most bands nowadays.

some new bands are quite good, but, I don't know, they lack something awesome. something the bands back than did have.

maybe it's just the idea that some bands were already making this awesome music such a long time ago that makes it more awesome...

i dunno. most of stuff back then was nice and simple. make some awesome fast and heavy riffs and stick em together.

Depends on your tastes. Some people (including me) like complex stuff. Along with the simpler stuff.

For fun I decided to calculate the average year of all the albums I have saved.

The result: 2041.
