I think I jinxed myself :o I waited all day to receive a progress note that only took me 15 minutes to type, upload and send :uff: I spent the rest of the day looking for filing basically, and tried to do some German study while I was babysitting the reception when no-one was in and the phones weren't ringing.

Like, one whole progress note...all day...:o The job came in about an hour before knock-off!

I'm not very good at this whole teaching myself a new language business. I didn't really get past trying to remember all the different words for "be" and "the" :o

To be = sein.

And like in English, there are different conjugaitions for to be.
I am
you are
He/she/it is

For "The", that's the hardest part, as there's (almost) no rule tot it, that's just plain simple learning.
Some rules though:
All words ending with: -ei, -eit, -keit, -heit, -ung and -schaft are "die". (except DER Papegei, DAS Ei)
All words ending with -chen, -lein are "das". EVEN 'das Mädchen'. (although it's a she)
All natural gender words have either "der" for male and "die" for female. And words that can be both are "das".
And all plural is "die".

Voilà.

And no worries, I do make those mistakes sometimes too. ;)

I got scared when I started trying to understand "den" and "dem" :o I don't think I have any references about sentence structure at all so I have no clue when I'm making a mistake until Careo tells me so :o

Actually, I don't know which one is what.
I learned German in Dutch (terms in Dutch of course) so I wouldn't know it either.

In Dutch:
dem = meewerkend voorwerp (to whom it may concern)
den = lijdend voorwerp, (Alix whom I saw last year in Brussels)

Hope this'll help a little.

A little. I'm still a little confused as to when it is appropriate to use den/dem instead of der/die/das.
