It's no coincidence those are always PROMOTED, and not reduced in rank or something like that. (gedegradeerd in Dutch, but too lazy to use googel to have it translated.)

The question on itself still stands. Why do people like that always get PROMOTED, and not DEMOTED?

In general: because life isn't fair.
Him specifically: He wasn't too bad as a manager as far as actually being a manager. The main problem was that he expected far too much of us - he (and management here in general) don't seem to realize that when you provide half the staff (or worse) that's needed to do the job effectively and help customers in a timely manner, things don't get done.

So I pulled out my old laptop to get it ready to ship to my friend (who's buying it off me) and now it's in the process of resetting to factory condition.
It's amusing to me how much bigger it is. It feels gigantic, haha.
(It's a 15.6 in laptop vs my current one which is 13.3 in)
