I guess this is a sign. I had considered moving closer to work for quite some time and now I'll really have to think hard about it. It appears the city Mayor doesn't give two shits about the place and I've heard very little in the media. The stuff I just read on facebook might have been helpful to me 7 hours ago

That sounds pretty typical. Unless you're living in a 'rich' area they never do much for you. Sucks that you are in that situation!

I woke up this morning to freezing rain, the sidewalk was a sheet of ice about 1/2 inch think which made walking nearly impossible

That was scary. I almost hit someone because my brakes failed. They slowed down enough (barely) but wouldn't stop, even though I had my foot all the way down. Going to have to get that looked at.
