This is something the Dutch Government (or Railways) should've done, not a municipality.
Short resume: On Dec 9 2012 the Benelux Intercity train from Brussels to Amsterdam seesed to exist. Instead there is a new, unreliable train called FYRA between those cities, but it only calls in Rotterdam and Schiphol (and Amsterdam) in NL, but won't stop in The Hague, making it the only government city not having an international rail connection whatsoever!
The City Council has now asked some space on the rail to try and create its own train connection between The Hague and Brussels, calling at Delft, Rotterdam, Dordrecht, Roosendaal (NL), Antwerpen C, Mechelen and Brussels (N?, C and Midi) (BE)
