ok, so 2 people have been kicked out in the past weeks, but they'll only hire 1 back... though while those 2 where still working here we were already understaffed... I'm fucking mad!!

:(

Sounds familiar.

One of ours quit a month ago and one's on maternity leave. They've hired just three more - one of which who was fired shortly after and another who probably won't make it till Christmas.

And then they wonder why we don't get things done on time.

Actually, they called and asked me to come in today. Screw that. :o My feet are dead from working five days in a row (normal for most people but I'm only supposed to be working half as much as most people).

So it's good for your health! You'll loose weight because of it! :D

No it's not, because I haven't gone a single day since I started this job over six months ago without waking up with sore feet. Literally, not even one. Not even when I was sick and was off five days in a row. For all I know I'm developing foot problems and I can't do anything about it because they're giving me the lower amount of hours like they're supposed to. It's far more of a bad thing than it is good.

I hate having to say no. I was dreading calling in to say that I'm not coming and apparently with good reason.

"Hello, Robbie?"
"I was calling to ask if you could come in - we're really shortstaffed."
"Yea - sorry, but I can't, I have plans."
"That's fine"
*end*

Not really a happy tone there.

I guess he can't really get upset at me because I have no obligation to come in on days I wasn't scheduled to, but still...:(

Not to mention I was on hold for 25 mins before giving up and calling back before I finally got a hold of him. It's not surprising given how apparently shortstaffed they are.

With any luck, hopefully the management are getting upset with the store manager at this point.

yeah it's typically how bosses try to operate things :(

If you ask me, it's stupid to wait until December or even November to hire anyone. It's too crazy a time of year to properly train anyone, and plus, if it turns out that they suck, you have to replace them and then at least somewhat train them in time for the holiday rush. And if you can't... this happens.

Someone's first day was the day before Black Friday. They were completely useless.

I'd have someone watch your feet then. Or try other shoes.
