I completely understand - too bad that most of my friends don't leave the German board or at least don't post here that much, besides Quark.

Yea it's great No one really understood so far...

I guess I kinda got in a fight with people when I said that society is turning dumb by the intelligent people wanting to do career instead of having children and the dumb people having children like crazy because they don't care. After that people started calling me a noob or said stuff like 'I generally don't trust people that do more than 100 posts a day' anytime that I tried to discuss about something serious. I am done with that, it's so disrespectful and so out of the point...

the thing is... you don't usually know who you need to 'tone down' for.
but more so, if you need to actually put forth effort to be nicer to anyone... well, you've already got issues.

And of course I've been insulted on the internet. Everyone is at some point or other.

I am wondering if they're so meaningless why it is that important then to some people to actually do insult others on the internet...

Well that's the problem with toning down. Where do you stop? What is the official level of friendliness allowed in a forum? If a private forum wants to make rules sure, but otherwise, all bets are off.

but on the other hand, people 'should' at least be nice to each other... but they don't. it's the same concept... people 'shouldn't' care about remarks on the internet... but they do.
and just an insult here and there is different from cyber bullying...

Haha I don't feel I'm being stubborn here really. All you're saying is "some people get hurt easily so we all need be careful what we say" and I disagree. Really i'm not particularly bothered about the whole thing I just like the good ole' chaos of the internet.
