I just diagnose myself and then I either go to the orthopedic doctor, the "throat, nose, ears" doctor, the "Hausarzt" or the gynaecologist why should I pay somebody to tell me to go to an ortophedist, if I could go there myself

same with allergic problems. My "throat, nose, ears" doctor is way more competent on that. He actually operated me on that issue and made some programm against it with me for 3 years. I trust him way more

yeah and they are pretty good... depending on what you have

and he knows me way better... my "Hausarzt" still gived me asthma medicine, that I am allergic on

a huisarts and a specialist actually have had the same basic training, after that the huisarts was not even halfway through his training and the specialist was done after just his specialism

they do not specialize on one thing but do learn about all the possible stuff (most of them have a speciality though)
