uhm... we think that your way of election is retarded, because you can actually become president though most people voted for the other one, just because the countries have a different weight (at least those who get the system in a first think so :p )

the other thing... yea, it's some stupid. Obama and Hilary kinda screwed the image of their whole party by fighting each other. That's stupid, since they are supposed to fight for their party, not for themselves.

that's what happens when you get 2 major parties...there are huge differences betweem members of the same party...and the insane amount of money spent campaigning....you can buy the fucking election if you want.

and of course the fact that many people or even whole states just vote for this or that party because they always do and not because they care of their programms. All the others vote for whom they think is more sympathatic

the special interest groups fund the candidates, so when they are elected, they must do as the interest groups wish. in that sense decisions are already made before a candidate is elected.

in germany we vote directly for the party respectively the composition of the "Bundestag". And the party with the most members in there sets a "Bundeskanzler" which is probably most comparable to your president...

do you actually know the exact voting system of germany?

we actually don't make a big fuzz of the elections in germany. You inform about the parties plans and vote for your party, that's it.
