S.E.London, UK,
Hello to all. I am new here I really want to come to Wacken 2006 - never been before - am a Rock chick with some Metal "tendancies" (yeah, I have loved The Scorpions for over 30 years and many other old/new bands but am also a Scorpio) LOL
I'm in London, UK, want to go, but have no friends who wish to :( sooooooooo, I need help.
Firstly, I don't know if any tickets are left for the whole weekend (plus camping) Secondly - I have no-one to come to Wacken with  soooooooooo I am hoping that by signing up to this forum, I may find people to join up with to go to Wacken with (maybe car-sharing or I will happily fly - just need to meet up with someone/some people, at the other end, to enjoy the festival with) :D
Independent, single Mother (44 years young) person here, love festivals, but can't get to many and trying to change that! ;) with brains and commonsense, but sadly needing help here (and some German translation too lol though I will be learning German with my youngest son soon, when he starts secondary school - looking forward to doing that!)

As I don't read more than a handful of words of German, I could not set up my profile properly and was not sure if/how to include my e-mail address for public viewing (IF is allowed?) for replies etc. Help needed and much appreciated, thanks. Especially interested in any Brits who read this Forum - esp. "professional Wacken-ers/ites" (? lol) (Londoners even more) for possible "meeting up and enjoying Wacken with" info/help.

Thanks for reading

Happy Wacken-ing all!

Not British ;) ...but can provide some answers ;)

Welcome to the forum, btw :)

First, tickets are still available @metaltix.com, and will be available @the festival headquarters (i.e., in Wacken).

Second, there is no camping ticket this year, instead of it they introduced the "Full metal bag" (just do a search on this one, plenty of info - or refer to the WOA homepage).

Third, you can actually change the forum display mode to English (via "Kontrollzentrum" in the menu on top > choose "Einstellungen ändern" > scroll down and in the last two drop-down windows, select "English".

Fourth (subjective POV) - I wouldn't make my e-mail addy public, there are private messages and stuff, if you want to communicate to someone outside the open forum... but that is just M.H.O.

BTW, many Germans (esp. in the metal scene) talk good English, you won't have any problems in Wacken...

Hope this all helps :)

S.E.London, UK,
Thankyou very much! Yes, I am just reading about the Full Metal Bag thing and slowly working my way around the site. Thankyou :)

Still hope to hear from fellow Londoners (or other brits maybe too lol) who want/need company to Wacken and anyone else - Worldwide - with any input.

Thanks again

:D

if you're up for the ride, you might find a bus from london-wacken. that'll be full of metal heads.

yes, it will smell bad on the way home. but so will you. that is the way of things. it is called Jerry and he is the way of things. One time he wasn't the way of things, then he was just a simple guy from Kentucky. But, as you might of guessed, he then one day become the 'way of things'. This happened on the 23rd of July, 1972. He woke up that day and found he was the way of things. It's a strange story but then that's the way of things these days. Jerry. These days. I remember once in 1912 when Gertrude of Bavaria tried to become the way of things, but in her attempt she failed to remember the 17th law of annoyance and thus failed to become the way of things. the way of things is a very interesting thing to be. some people know you, other people don't. but you simply have to deal with everyone. I mean, i'm just guessing that, cause I'm not the way of things and have no experience in being the way of things. I would ask Jerry but he's a busy man and I lost his telephone number and I'm too scared anyway. But I find the number I'll give it to you and maybe you can try and phone. But I probably won't find the number. That is the way of things. Jerry. He knows his shit.

OK - thanks very much for that

I am not worried about going alone at all, just would like to share the experience, with others, and as I have never experienced Wacken before - esp. alone - hoping I can meet up with some other nice people, to enjoy Wacken with

:)

me and Mike ( Carpathian Wolf) are flying from Stansted on the 31st July with Ryanair. Feel free to tag along, or meet us at the festival site and we'll try to sort things out so you don't get lost or ripped off.
Pm me if you want for more details.
