British (and other) I need your help!

For a school thing I have to do a comparation with the tranport ("public" : train, bus, subway, tramway...) in England and in Québec. First, I want to know the year of the privatisation (1994, if I'm right) and if Thatcher have done something with the public transport? I want to know how the system is? Any good link will be welcome .

I spent two years in UK...let me tell you...the public transport is a pile of crap.

Bus timetables are useless because buses just come whenever the driver feels likes....you just have to go to the bus stop and hope not to wait too long..

The 41 Lothian Bus in Edinburgh is worst of all!

Over here as well, last fall was pretty nasty. Lots of delays because they had to clean leaves of the railway.
