Hello, I am an American looking for info on traveling to Wacken, I currently have family is Roselare, Belgium and I am most likley going to be there a few days before WOA. I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me figure out how to get from Roselare to Wacken using the train.

I think Deinze is closest by to Roeselare. Otherwise you'd have to go to Berchem (Antwerp) by train first (www.b-rail.be) and then get on a bus.
Possibilities enough I'd say.
By train:
Roeselare (Roulers) => Kortrijk (Courtrai)
Kortrijk => Bruxelles Nord/Midi/Brussel Noord/Zuid.
BXL => Köln (Cologne) Hbf.
Köln => Hamburg (Hbf/Altona)
Hamburg => Itzehoe.
Avoid Thalys if you can, and take ICE Brussels-Cologne. Thalys is relatively expensive and does not allow "other" tickets but their own.

NGBE / SNCB gibt kein Itzehoe ab. Da wurde der meist nah geliegen Bahnhof Heide(Holst) sein. IZ wird nur durch www.bahn.com/en erkannt.

NMBS = Nationale Maatschappij der Belgische Spoorwegen
Und als ich letztes Mal zum Schalter ging in Brüssel (Midi/Süd) um mir ein Ticket zu kaufen von AC Süd Grenze bis IZ sagte die Frau mir dass IZ nicht abgegeben werden kann aus Belgien. Finden schon, aber Ticketverkauf nicht. (ich habe innerhalb BE freie Fahrt, deswegen von der Grenze)

Achso es ging um den Ticketverkauf, ich hatte vermutet es geht um die Fahrplanauskunft.
Verbindung geht schon.
Aber wenn er/sie ein Ticket kauft via SNCB Europe, soll er/sie HEIDE(Holst) sagen, statt Itzehoe. Oder buchen über www.bahn.com/en, dat funzt auch. (und das geht ab Roeselare aber kann wieder schwieriger werden)
