Would somebody be so kind and translate some of this stuff for me. i kinda get the gist, are they trying to justify the price or something?

Hi leute,

Ticketpreisen kund tun:
Da ich mit meiner Gruppe 2004 schon das 4. Jahr in Wacken bin hab
mal andere festivals an.
sommer besuche:

1. Bang Your Head Festival, Balingen (übrigens meine Heimat)

Tage

It's not from the organisers. It's from a guy who compares the Bang Your Head, the Summer Breeze, and the Wacken festivals, and concludes that while Wacken may be a bit more expensive, it is six days of fun whereas the others are just three. Plus, the fun at Wacken is more fun than at the other.

Hi guys,
I just wanted to say two things:
1. Come to our website, www.schkool.de, a party site of a metal clique (does that word exist in English?) with more than 3600 party pics, among others also from WOA.

2. I want to tell you my opinion about the hot discussion about the ticket prices:
As 2004 will be the fourth time me and my group are going to WOA, I have as usually ordered my x-mas-package and so I will not be affected (of the new prices) anyway which I can only recommend to anybody else as there has never been a bad WOA as long as I've been going there and as it is no problem to buy the ticket now already.
Well, but as there certainly are people who don't do that, which I can also understand, I just wanna tell them: Look at other festivals.
Objective comparison of the three festivals I've been visiting for three years each summer:

1. Bang Your Head Festival, Balingen (my home, by the way)
The festival costs 50 Euro for 2 days
then you pay 10 Euro per person for the camping
and another 6 Euro per car
for me, that's 66 Euro for three days of fun because the camping site strictly opens from Thursday morning on only and you have to be gone on Sunday 10 (a.m. ?)

2. Summer Breeze Festival, Abtsgmünd
Here I pay 39 € plus 10€ for camping plus 10€ per car
that makes 59 €
again, I can only arrive on Thursday - makes three days as well

3. Wacken Open Air, in Wacken, as anybody knows
I pay 55 Euro plus 20 for the car, i.e. 5 Euro per person as we are four in our car.
That means I pay 59 €, others will pay 80 € then (75+5)
But as I have always gone to Wacken on Sunday already as trucks may not drive on Sundays, I arrive on Monday morning and then also may enter the campingground at 8 a.m.
This means, 6 days of fun for me, and that's absolutely crazy.

Conclusion:
Summerbreeze is a little cheaper for me, and so is BYH, but the fun on WOA is so extraordinary (or so) that it would also be worth for me to pay 100€ (don't get crazy ideas now, orgas :) ) Apart from this I always noticed that the price of the tickets isn't responsible for the largest part of the costs for one week of party, as I need much more for food and drinks. So if now anybody is talking about the 5 € of rubbish deposit which you get at the two other festivals mentioned, then let
s be honest, those 5 € will be gone at the next beer stall and never enter your purse. I prefer bringing two bags of rubbish to a container in Wacken and get one of the great posters and get something for decorating my home.

So, that's it from me
Greetings SIR EPPLER

Thanks...!

its nice to know that you can camp from Monday onwards as the ferry goes on a Tuesday from England, and gets in on a Wednesday...., and i dont mind paying extra, cause i would have to pay extra for 1 night stay over on another camp site.

Its also good that you can arrive when you want that week, so there isnt a mad rush on the day it starts, and also if we get lost we can take our time trying to find the darn place....

I think its also nice that you can get a camping spot earlier, which would make it easier than graspop this year, cause that was a nightmare on the day and we missed about 4 bands!!!.

is it 10 euros ''each'' extra a day ?

i am a she :0)

Well OFFICIALLY you ought to come on Wednesday or later. But they don't kill you if you come earlier.

Don't know about that 10 Euro thing - I guess it's 10 Euro whenever you come before, let's say, Tuesday. If I knew somebody, I would ask someone who did arrive earlier last year.

They said that they will be stricter concerning the people who arrive early, it seems that they don't want this anymore. So it is perhaps a good idea to arrive on Wednesday.
