Avatarium ist eine schwedische Doom-Metal- und Rockband aus Stockholm, die im Jahr 2012 gegründet wurde. Die Band setzt sich aus einigen erfahrenen Musikern zusammen. Leif Edling war früher als Texter und Bassist bei Candlemass und Krux. Marcus Jidell war als Gitarrist bei den Bands Evergrey und Royal Hunt, Lars Sköld, der außer bei Avatarium auch heute noch bei Tiamat hinterm Schlagzeug sitzt
