Hi all,
the Metal Travel Guide needs your help again!

I just had the idea that it would be nice to have a small introduction about the metal scene in every country - infos like

- is there much going on Metal-wise
- do the people prefer a specific Metal style
- are there differences to the scene in other countries
- is it maybe even dangerous to be a metalhead
- biggest bands coming from your country

and stuff like that.

Anyone interested in writing such a small local scene report?
If yes, let me know! :)

I will only answer on the two last questions.
No it's not dangerous.........and the biggest?
Hmm. I say the best not the biggest, is Opeth.

I haven't been following the events in Russia for quite a while, and my writer's skills do suck, therefore only short answers to questions provided...

- is there much going on Metal-wise?
Given the country's size - no (biggest cities, like Moscow, SPB, Yekaterinburg etc. be the exception). However, the Metal scene is far from dead in Russia :)

- do the people prefer a specific Metal style?
Not really (like elsewhere, I guess).

- are there differences to the scene in other countries?
Sure. I think, every country's scene is unique. :)

- is it maybe even dangerous to be a metalhead?
No, unless you live in a real white trash neighborhood.

- biggest bands coming from your country
To name a few - Aria, Korrozia Metalla, Rossomahaar, Rakoth, Master, Epidemia, Alkonost, Tvangeste, Butterfly Temple, Ashen Light [the latter be my fave of those named :) ]; a more complete list you can find HERE.

Yes it's me, I have to include some other bands....like Bloodbath, Hypocrisy, Europe ! (just kidding) but they were great according to many girls though at the time when they were at top...hehe. Nocturnal Rites, Dark tranquillity, Arise, Anata (from my hometown), Arch Enemy, Morgana Lefay. And I put a link to http://www.selfdeception.se/ a friend of mine at work.
