As much as I am a fan of Sabaton, Parkway Drive or Demons&Wizards it's very funny that they call themselves headliners. I somehow agree with you, although I think that there are certain bands that just have to be at Wacken every 2-3 year like Amon Amarth or Avantasia because they already became a part of the festival the same way as Saxon did. And no one is expecting impossible bands. What is impossible about Iced Earth, Accept, Airbourne,Hammerfall, Scorpions, Rhapsody... -

Absolutely shitty announcement. And I guess I'm not the only one who thinks that way. Just look at people reactions on facebook for ex. Everyone was expecting Running Wild, Helloween Reunion, Scorpions etc and we get Volbeat... Fuck. -

@WackenJasper - Is this going to be a " fat " show in prime time ? Will it last for at least 1H30MIN ? :) Such idea for best-of Trilogy deserve a cool set-up and some time.. @Sava2015 - I think that somehow Hellfest is taking control over all metal festivals. Not many can compete with them. I don't know who is their sponsor but they can already have a sold-out without even announcing single band. But there are also interesting festivals like Leyendas Del Rock that... -

Wow again nothing for main stages ? That's shocking.. I was so excited before calendar but after so many Crossover/Metalcore/Minor bands 5-6 days a week I don't have any expectations. I guess Wacken can already see that having only few main stage bands with tons of fillers for tents won't work... -

Haha, I am quite old too but AOR Rock bands was never my thing :) And Yeah, Tankard is alright. And you know, I like smaller bands like Kryptos or Warrant but there are too much of that small bands in that calendar. And when bigger band pops up it turns out to be Metalcore or JBO :) No wonder... -

Yeah I only got Primal Fear in Calendar.. Wacken for me was always about Heavy/Thrash/Power Metal bands that I won't be able to see at commercial fests like Hellfest/Graspop for example. But something is constantly changing. More and more Metalcore/funny "not"/AOR Rock...
