can anyone let me know if there are storage facilities at the airport (or other) where i can keep my luggage when i'm at wacken. and are the bathrooms and showers expensive?


i'm not really this corny, i'm just dying to get to europe.

If you are going to Hamburg airport there should be storage facilities, of course. But your normal luggage you can simply leave in your tent - I´ve been to Wacken 5 times and never anything was been stolen. The metallers are peaceful folks in that things.
The showers at Wacken should be about 2,50 EUR and you also can buy the original Wacken towels there when you have a shower. Toilets are about 0,50 EUR (the clean ones) and also for free (the nasty ones & the maize field )

thanx for writing back, i'm trying to get all the info i can before i get to wacken and to know what to expect. how do you seasoned wacken-ers find your tent on the campgrounds after you set up? i'm hoping to meet up with some of you people once i
get to wacken, another person i met says there are a million people there. are you going early? we plan on getting to the site on 01.08.02. i have another question maybe you can help with if you don't mind, do you know how far amsterdam is from Bad Berka, in Germany? we're also going to another festival (party.san) on 08.08.02 and i'm having trouble finding travel info and train info on this. european travel is hard if it's you're first time.

thanx for any help you can offer, i'm gonna owe alot of folks beer @ wacken

Hi,
there is another thread called "Wacken!!!!!!!" which is already dealing with the Party.San Festival, I guess you can find your info there. I´ve never been to that festival, so I dont know many details about it.
Well, there is not a million people at Wacken, "only" about 25.000
I guess this year we´ll be arriving at Wednesday, 31th July. I hope that is early enough to find a good place for my tent. Festival starts earlier every year...
You will also be able to download a map of the festival area at this website before the festival starts, so you can get an orientation at the campground. This year they are also planning to name the "streets" at the whole festival area so it will be easy to find the way back to your tent and to make a date with other people. Some people also have flags at their tents to make it easier for them to find the way back in the night.
Hm, what bands do I like? Many scandinavian ones, styles like Melodic Dark, Gothic, Black and oldschool True Metal. And you?

ah, I see it was you who started the other discussion about Party.San festival. You can try to get some train info at www.bahn.de. I just tried to find a train connection btw Amsterdam and Bad Berka and it seems to take 9 hours. *justhadalookatmymap* Yepp, Bad Berka is near Erfurt which is pretty far in the East of Germany.
