I thought that lager was the translation for pils :D

There are two sorts of Beer (exept Weizen). Pils and Export. Export iss with a higher percentage of alkohol and optimized for *drums* export, and imho also called lager (more chemical ingridients for the transportation, pils doesn't make it very long in the crate, even if you don't drink it. And the translation for pils is pils, as far as I know.

But I will check that, now you made me uncertain. ;)

referring to wikipedia there is a third sort of beer, called lager, with a modified brewing receipe for keeping the beer over the summer in ice-cellars. it is not as bitter as pils and has less alcohol than export. But It tastes more like a export beer.

When I read on at wikipedia, I guess I was right. At least a large part was right. I was not completly wrong. There was some truth in my post.

Just Kidding: A "helles Lager" is also called export. Lager tastes like export. so it is export. point. ;)
