I'll just turn it to a new thread as well, but it's also duplicated in the "beer" thread. A question to those that might know, but mostly to the residents of Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany. On the home page of EBCU, located at http://www.dma.be/p/bier/5_1_uk.htm Under heading 2. EBCU Objectives It is mentioned that the three countries Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany has a taxation that favours small scale breweries. Does anyone know more about these laws? Some of the questions I am looking for answers to are: 1) What is the maximum volume that counts as small scale? 2) What tax reductions does the brewery have? 3) When were these laws passed? 4) What is the name and paragraph of the law(s)? 5) Has anyone tried to make this law pass for the entire EU? 6) Can I find information about these laws in English somewhere? 7) Any more information you have that you think would be useful for me? 8) Does any other countries part from these three have anything similar that favours pub and micro breweries?
