    Newbie introductions

My first wacken was last year. I thought I packed light for a overseas trip, but was still too much. Get yourself a good pair of boots. (The steel toe boots are too heavy for a overseas trip unless you plan to mosh pit) It's always muddy in Wacken even with or without the rain. Most of all have fun.

    Q & A about Wacken Open Air

If they have it at the same place as last year, it's on the other side of the gate, next to the paid showers and water supplies (close to the entrance to the metal market). The spot is actually better than where Ready to Rock is located (near the entrance) .

    Q & A about Wacken Open Air

Totally agreed, they are definitely cheaper. I hadn't even consider another tent rental company. Not sure what to tell you. The only pro I can think of for Ready to Rock is their tent location at the Wacken campgrounds, the village and to the bus. Not sure where mein-zelt-ist-bestellt have their...

Choosing accomodation and looking for to share a car WOA2014

I mention this place on an earlier post. Not sure when they will start offering reservations for 2014 Wacken. It is expensive but closer than most of the hotels. http://www.kluges-reisen.de/reise/10896/ms_wacken-river_hotel_english.htm

Choosing accomodation and looking for to share a car WOA2014

Last year I saw some kind of houseboat hotel near Wacken. It's expensive but very close to the festival. Look at the archives from this past WOA. Like Alix, I still recommend camping. Either your own tent or rent a tent like I'm doing.

    Q & A about Wacken Open Air

Just remember $370 includes a security deposit, I'm guessing the security deposit was was around $120. So it's about $250. Still expensive, but for someone us, I rather be comfortable and not deal more equipment than needed especially for me I'm going to other cities in Europe after the...

    Q & A about Wacken Open Air

I did Ready to Rock rent a tent this year and have already sign up for it next year. I like it. They have the tents all set up for you when you get there. My total cost was around $370, including tent, sleep bag, air mattress, chair, water jug, and I think a security deposit (as long as you keep...
